The day before

So far today I've spent about 30 minutes of my time calling potential voters - urging them to get to the polls and make their mark. I have been calling on behalf of Democratic candidates because that is my desire for this election, but I've been trying to let the people I speak to in person know that the most important thing is that they just get out and vote.

I have to tell you, it wasn't easy. Cold calling people like this makes me really nervous. I was fighting an anxiety for the majority of that short 30 minutes.

But I did it. And I'm going to try again this evening to see if more people are home - leaving messages on an answering machine was easier, but seemed less helpful.

I still find it hard to believe that there are people now who don't know if they are even going to vote.

In the North American region the Bahamas has the highest voter turnout - it's ridiculously high, like 80% or higher. The ten countries with the highest voter turnout in the world are: Australia, Singapore, Uzbekistan, Liechtenstein, Belgium, Nauru, Bahamas, Indonesia, Burundi and Austria.

Doesn't that seem crazy to you? Are we just lazy? Where's that competitive spirit? Come on America, vote!
