Today I had some mandatory lab work done. I don't remember what all they are testing for - I heard sickle cell, something about Rh, yada, yada, yada. I'll find out next week I guess.
I loved the guy who drew my blood! I know that's not something you hear everyday, but seriously, he was awesome. He really took his time and and was amazingly gentle. He found a good spot that wasn't right smack dab in the middle the crook of my elbow. It was way to the left and it didn't hurt AT ALL. I told him when he was done that he did an excellent job and that I didn't feel a thing. He smiled shyly and said, "I'm sure it hurt a little bit."
"No, no, the band around my arm hurt more than anything!" I replied.
So he gave me cute little round bandage. It was blue with a green race car on it! How cool is that? Melbourne joked about it probably glowing in the dark, I haven't tested it out yet but I'll let you know if it does.
Afterward, Melbourne and I went to look at some shirts for the company. When we walked up to the counter to ask the clerk about some of the shirts we had found she reached over and yanked my bandage off - HARD. I looked at her sort of shocked.
"Was it falling off?" I asked.
She just sort of blinked.
"That's my band-aid," I said.
She slowly turned it over and saw the bloody stain.
"Oh God, I thought it was a sticker! Here, here, here!"
